Mystery of the Faith Lesson 20

The Resurrection of the Lost

The followers of "The Faith" believed that there would be one resurrection of the saved and lost at the end of the world.  There were things about the resurrection in "The Faith" that they did not understand ("Mystery").
What they did not understand was that there would be two classes of resurrections, the saved (First Resurrection) and the lost (Second Resurrection).
The resurrection of the saved would be in three stages.  Israel was taught to harvest their crops in three stages, (1) firstfruits (tithe), (2) main harvest, and (3) the gleaning for the poor.  So also would be the resurrection of the saved, (1) Christ the firstfruits, (2) the main resurrection of the saved at the rapture, and (3) the gleaning of the saved at the 2nd coming of Jesus which would complete the resurrection of the saved.

The last resurrection is that of the lost.  This resurrection will be at the end of the world. This resurrection is known as the second death or second resurrection.
