The Seven Trumpets

There were things taught about this "faith" which they did not understand (a "mystery").  They did not understand (a "mystery") that Jesus would come, be born of a virgin, but would be rejected, crucified, buried, and raised the third day.  They did not understand (a "mystery") that Jesus would ascend to heaven and return at a later time to set up his political kingdom as promised to Abraham.

They did not understand (a "mystery") that Jesus would return as a thief in the night and the born again believers would be taken out, Raptured.  Then a period of great tribulation would follow on the earth for seven years, to purge and prepare the Israeli nation for the 2nd coming of Jesus to be their King and Savior.
The seven trumpets is the indignation of the Lord.  
(Isaiah 26:19-21 Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

20 ¶ Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.

21  For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.)
 

1. When the first trumpet sounded there followed  and

18  By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.)
20. Did the rest of men repent at this time?
