Purpose: To acquaint you with the book and to help you to see the events as they happen in Revelation.



In chapter 20 we have Satan bound for one thousand years, the thousand year reign, the last battle, the end of the Earth, and the Great White Throne Judgment.

1. When Satan was bound for a thousand years, John saw and those that sat upon them.

Revelation 20:4 "And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years."

2. Complete the description of the souls that John saw: "They were for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not the beast, neither his , neither had received his upon their , or in their .

NOTE: These are those who lived during the tribulation period. It is only during the tribulation period that the beast, his image, name, number and mark is used.

3. These souls were raised at this time and lived to with Christ a years.

4. Were the rest of the dead raised at this time?

Revelation 20:5 "But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection."

5. This resurrection of the tribulation saints completes the resurrection of all the saved (those raised at the resurrection of Christ and at the Rapture) and is known as the resurrection.

6. Those who were raised in the first resurrection (those raised at the resurrection of Christ, and the Rapture and after the tribulation period) will be of God and of Christ, and shall with him a years.

Revelation 20:6 "Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years."

7. Does the second death have any power over those raised in the first resurrection?

8. During the thousand year reign of Christ on the earth, the life span of the lost will be a thousand years. A lost person who dies at the age of an hundred is just a .

Isaiah 65:20 "There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed."

9. A lost person who is not saved during his first hundred years will be , and not be able to be saved the rest of their life.

10. Will life go on as usual (build, do business and etc.) for the lost, during the thousand year reign of Christ on the earth?

Isaiah 65:21-24 "And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. 22 They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. 23 They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them. 24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear."

11. During the thousand year reign of Christ on the earth, the animal kingdom will be at peace, for the shall feed together with the and the shall eat straw like the bullock.

Isaiah 65:25 "The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent’s meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD."

NOTE: The body of a saved person will be raised like the resurrected body of Jesus. (Philippians 3:20-21 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.)

12. Will the saved get sick, old or die, during the thousand year reign of Christ on the earth?
